The acquaduct is remarkably beautiful and functional with surprisingly delicious water... Impressive after 1000 years in operation.

Nothing to say. Not worth the effort. Hemmed in at the end of a large square. This is also one of the main entrances to the square where they hold the jousting medieval tournaments in July/August.

It is amazing that this structure is still standing. Testament to how things were done centuries ago! We spent many evenings under these arches enjoying gelati on very, very warm summer evenings in Sulmona!

Beautiful view looking through the arches, down the steps and opening onto the Square. With the mountains in the background, it gives the feeling of an alpine village. A very pleasant stop before we headed back to Rome.

Situated near Piazza Garibaldi is the wonderful mediaeval aqueduct, built in 1256, it has 21 arches and is 100 metres long. It is by no means as big and imposing as a lot of other aqueducts, nor is it as old. Then you stop and...More
