So many old and picturesque Italian villages are perched on hill tops for their protection through history. Unfortunately this can easily preclude visits from those of us with mobility problems. Spoleto has put in this very attractive and well maintained escalator system that you can...More

We found it very convenient and interesting that these moving walkways are here in Spoleto to take weary travelers up to the top of the city. We did use them.

Thanks to this modern "moving carpet" and elevators on the most important places in the town, we could explore this phenomenal place! There is a good solution to arrange in the elevator's area/old city walls exhibitions of modern art, too! Congrats!

Very helpful to have a mechanised walkway especially in the middle of a heatwave in hilly Spoleto. Cool, clean, convenient and free.

This is a mechanized walkway, similar to what you would find in an airport, that takes you from the bottom of the city's hill to the very top. You enter at one of 5 or 6 points along its route. It's very convenient because this...More

Spoleto has a wonderful system of elevators and connected moving walkways that can carry you up or down the hills in very efficient fashion. They are free and easily accessible. There are three separate systems. The longest runs from the Posterna Car Park up to...More
