Beautiful church to get away out if the heat. Surprisingly beautiful inside. Go down under the alter to see the cavern church and I got the opportunity to go one floor further down to see the mosaic floor.

The church is located in the most important square of the Reggio Emilia city and the exterior doesn't look very promising. However, the inside is much better. We had the opportunity to be there during the mass and the sound of music from organ and choir was amazing.

I attended a nighttime concert in the interesting Duomo with a raked choir area, causing one to lift one's eyes as one looks at the front of the church. All the Pentecost Sunday bouquet of anthuriums made for a pretty brilliant display. The acoustics for the music were impressive (though for the spoken words, they were quite inadequate). The performance, a benefit for a children's social service agency, by a local university choir and a visiting chorus was vigorous and inspiring (the "va pensiero" encore could not fail to please), The Duomo itself anchors a lovely piazza, beautifully proportioned and populated by young folks enjoying an aperitif after a long day.

I wandered into this basilica purely on a whim, It is breathtakingly beautiful. The stillness inside is a perfect foil for the piazza. I was amazed at the intricacy of the arches, the revelations of the original flooring and the hidden grotto beneath the altar. This is place of beauty and reverence that is hidden in plain sight. I would highly recommend a visit here.

Located in the main square if Reggio Emilia, this Dumo is, at first, deceiving. The outside looks rather run down. Entering the duomo provides a different feeling. A beautiful and warm interior. Worth visiting if you're in the town.

A beautiful Basilic in the centre of the city. It is worths to see the inner part with some nice paintings and sculptures. It can be found in the biggest piazza in the town with some other impressive bulidings.

The duomo was not open any of the times we went by. It was located in a nice square. It was ok. We have seen so many churches. Did not really stand out.

The problem is, if you visit several towns, all has got a cathedral. And to be very honest, this one wasn't the most beautiful. But if you are anyhow in the city, drop in.

I'd definitely recommend going in to have a look at this beautiful building. You won't be disappointed. Once you've visited, you can relax in the Duomo Square in one of the many bar / restaurants, where you'll be warmly welcomed. Just sit back, relax and enjoy people watching!
