One of the prettiest small city cathedrals I have seen, with the amazing chapel of the Holy Belt just inside the door, and extraordinary frescoes on the walls of the Trancept chapels. A must see.

This is a smaller Duomo than in Florence or Siena, but lovely nonetheless. It is well known in Catholicism for being having a belt supposedly worn by the Virgin Mary which is displayed in an elaborate reliquary the size of a large altar and is...More

Another beautiful old Duomo & this time in Prato surrounded by cobbled streets full of little shops & outside cafes. The Duomo is in excellent condition & is free to inspect. We were impressed by its serenity & calmness in an otherwise busy world outside....More

Admittance to the cathedral is free but you need to get a ticket at the duomo museo to see the frescoes. Also the frescoes are not open all the time. For instance today (Sunday) they didnt open until 3pm. Some fabulous sculptures/architecture in any case.
