We were not going to go to Palmaria because we intended to hike all of Cinque Terre across tow days. We ended up seeing 3 of the 5 villages there on day one. The trail was closed between two so we decided to do Palmaria...More

We took local boat. €5 return per person. Take note of the timetable as there's not that many. The ride itself is barely 5 mins long. Take plenty and i mean plenty of water with you. We went on a very hot day and its...More

It is well worth hiring a small boat to explore the islands. Lots to see and great places to swim. The RIBs are 80 Euro for 2 hours.

Formally a military installation there is still some areas of the island that are off limits but the rest of it is beautiful. The walking is largely on tracks with good footing.

Less people than on trails in 5 terre. Simple hike around the island. The restaurant on the other side of the island make it possible to make a stop and take a rest.

We did it anti-clockwise and the beginning is very steep. Great views. Lovely beach at the end. The boat across leaves for the island on the hour and returns 20 past the hour. In September 2016 it was €4.50 return. Nice spot for escaping the...More

We did a full walk around the island which is 6.5km and can take 2.5 to 3 hours. Much of the walk is easy but there are some sections that are not really suited for the casual walker and in any case you do need...More

Just across the city of Porto Venere. This is a great beach with one of the most beautiful waters I have ever seen.
