Not my cup of tea usually, but this was a lovely experience with our family a walk round the ruins and then drink and snacks at a lovely café/bar, lots of small stalls etc, we returned a second time

Paestum is totally incredible but not on the main tourist route round Herculaneum & Pompeii . It is so easy to get a train down here from Naples so make sure you put it on your hit list . This 2500 year old site has...More

You can see these ruins from the main road but walking around them is a whole different experience. Take your time walking the whole grounds and looking at everything, you could spend a good morning or afternoon here. A must see in Paestum.

Bus from Maiori to Salerno and easy 40 minute train journey to Paestum. Uncrowded, peaceful and dramatic. The guidebook blurb talks of 'Three of the finest Greek Temples in existence'. The guidebook is not wrong. If you want an audio guide then bring your driving...More

Fantastically well-preserved, this beautifully proportioned Greek temple (13 Doric columns long, 6 columns wide) is almost 200 feet long and was built in approximately 450BC. The only parts missing are the roof and internal walls. The whole site of Paestum is huge, so unlike other...More

We did as a day trip from Ravello (bus to Amalfi, then the exciting coast bus to Salerno, then train). Was a great day. The site is impressive in the still standing three Greek temples. It is not Pompeii with its mosaics, but that is...More

Another gem in this incredible archeological site of Paestum. Impressive temple, very well preserve in a great quite and ample location. I would say it could rival the Parthenon in Athens

A very beautiful place we visited under the rain, almost alone 😊 peaceful and quiet without the hords of tourists.... 2000 years of history that we highly recommend.

I'm not going to say to much about the baths outside the temple. That may offend some. Parts of the inner sanctuary even has remains. Nothing remains of the altar barring the platform it was built on. A good example of a Greek Temple.

Loved it because there was no one else. It was a peaceful and beautiful walk. I can't think of another place that allows people to walk inside of the temples.

No. We went in the middle of May and there was no queue. A lot of agencies charge a lot to 'skip the line.' It is a waste of money. Wear good shoes, take water and see some of the best things that you will ever see.
