I really loved Montepulciano. Even though it was raining and foggy, meandering up the ancient streets lined with shops and restaurants was pretty magical. We ate and drank well and shopped as well. Most of the stores were open even though it was off season....More

Just a charming, enjoyable hill town. Might be my favorite! The shops are higher class stuff...not junkie, and the cafes line the street. Its a no brainer stop!

I think at least two hours or more if you like to stop in shops and restaurants. We loved Montepulciano.
