On a free afternoon from our group tour, our guide arranged for several of us to ride to Montecatini Alto. The old village sits atop the mountain. During the summer it can be accessed with the funicular, but it was closed when we were there....More

We went here the end of November. Unfortunately not many people visit then. There are several nice shops and great restaurants. The view is beautiful

We visited the town on a Sunday and several shops and restaurants were closed The town is extremely charming, free parking. Hotels in town are really roomy and prices are very reasonable The city garden is a must

Didn't eat out but walked around the town which is very small but very pretty. Well worth a trip. Great photo opportunity!

we sat in the courtyard and had a delicious glass of wine and watched the happenings going on around us. Enchanting. And the trolly ride up was fun as well.

Nice trip up the mountain in funicular. Beautiful sunset view of Montecatini Terma. "Town" was much smaller than expected. Consisted of square with some restaurants and small gift shops. Admittedly, we went at dusk so it became dark quickly and did not find other areas...More

I visit Montecatini every month, for many reasons, and my favorite fitness session is running to Montecatini Alto and back. The square in Montecatini Alto is wonderful and the famous “mangia e bevi” ice cream is a good and healthy choice.

I would say no we had one which was nice as we were able to get around easier. The town itself is fairly small and there are 2 train stations in town.

Hotel Da Vinci I suggest. Very well located with good staff and food. Professional price performance. Walking distance from the center and bath....also funicular easy to reach.
