We arrived before they opened at 11am and were able to purchase tickets (7 Euro return) beforehand. The ride was lovely and we managed to stand at the front of the carriage both ways so experienced the very best views. Staff were very friendly. There...More

The trip is quick and very safe albeit a steep incline and only costs 7 Euros round trip. The car can take up to 40 people at a time and the car runs every 30 minutes.

The funicular is worth it for a great view over montecatini and the surrounding countryside. It’s about a 30 minute stroll from the center of town. Montecatini Alto is an interesting but hilly place to wander.

We did not go to Rome, not enough time if you want to see Florence, Pisa and the Tuscany countryside too! If you want to go to Rome, just do that!
