We visited Montecatini Terme after reading that it was a thermal town. Disappointingly theres only this one public hot bath. Its really not luxurious at all so please dont expect it to be a spa-like treat. There ae 2 really old crusty and mouldy baths in the room- they really need to be taken out as they are obviously broken and have not been used for many years so they make the room look scruffy. We were fortunate to have the pool to ourselves as its not very big. It was just ok. The pool noodles all had black mould spots on -yeuch!. I had been determined to get in a thermal pool whilst in this beautiful town but I wouldnt really recommend it to anyone.

Skip this one. Very generic not a spa like environment. Makes you think by their website they are like a Roman bath and they share the same number. Couldn’t be farther away from that . The massage was short by 15 minutes and was a back rub at best. As non-spa-like as it could get felt like a strange hospital. Very disappointed

All needs updating seen better days not worth 15euros wouldn't bother going. Paint peeling off ceiling in places where pool is & rusty around the pool but this maybe because of the minerals in the water.

Me and my friends visited this establishment, expecting a spa experience.

Instead we entered what can only be described as a medical rehab center. Mould in the ceiling, on the pipes around the pool and on the shower hangers.

The locker doors was missing spots of paint, there were wheelchairs (wooden once’s) in the pool area along with equipment for training muscles.

The entrance looked like a waiting room at an ER.

The luxury feeling is none exciting! On the contrary you feel worried to get fungus from walking around barefoot and it feels like dipping yourself in dirty dish water entering the pool.

However the staff was friendly and the massage and facials were good so if you avoid the pool area you might still feel contempt with the visit.

Cracking hour in spa waters. It is a soak and lounge around pool, opens at 11.20am. There are two strong jets of water that when stood under gave a very good massage. A walking route of cool and warmer water followed by the large plunge pool that was warm.
Glad we did it once in the spa town on holiday and would recommend one visit to tourists. Need to book a week in advance for other treatments.

Can only agree with what others have said. The place isn't good at all. Yes you in thermal waters but the room is in dire need of repair. Roof holes, stains and mouldy side or the pool.
Pictures on website really are not what it is in reality. Such a shame.

Montecatini Terme bills itself as the spa destination of the European elite for many generations. Don’t flatter yourself. If you want to simply soak in a thermal bath, the website of the bath complex shows images of Terme Tettuccio, which is a lovely building where you can drink overpriced water. No accurate images of the actual thermal pool which is housed at Terme Redi. I’m sure this was a nice facility when it first opened, but now it is tired and old, in need of renovation. The showers and change rooms are fine, even the lobby and exterior seem up to date, but the main pool is tepid, not hot, the stone and the rails, handles, etc are stained with rust, the other pools are likewise lukewarm, jets are feeble, water is a bit cloudy. The Terme I have visited elsewhere in Italy usually have cold pools for contrast, very hot pools, indoor and outdoor pools, and so forth. Not Terme Redi. I challenge you to find an accurate description and photos.

My advice? Save your money. Have a hot shower in your hotel room and spend your €13 on gelato and pizza.

When you walk in to see a man with a full manicure kit scraping dead skin and cutting his nails, by the poolside, you know the standards of this natural spa must have radically fallen over the years.

The poolside attendant was too focused on his phone to take note. We raised it with the receptionist, however as we had no photographic evidence we weren’t entitled to a refund.

Note to self- have camera at the ready at the poolside in future…?!

What a bizarre experience.
We were left feeling slightly dumbfounded, and after the spa headed straight for a drink to forget about it all.

This is not a luxury spa, you come here for the healht benefits of the thermal water (salt and minerals) (see also Epson salt it has some of the same benefits) the price is of course lower than a luxury spa. 12 euro for an hour.
Some days are very busy and there are time slots, so book an hour. (Phone number on the added time table, be aware! on the timetable are some dedicated hours for individual treatments, usually first operate from 10.30 until 12.30 and then again from 13.30 - xxxx
Bring a blanket or rent one, swimwear of course, “hair cap” are needed both for men and women (provided by the desk)
I came with severe infiltrations in my neck (headache) and went away like a new person, used the water springs at my neck.
Its might be a little tricky to find, but look for a more modern building near the adress.
Enjoy.

I stayed all afternoon even though you’re only supposed to stay like 15-30 minutes" I love the Healing waters and had to take full advantage of this and milk it for all it was worth! They make you wear a hair cover-cap so I had to buy one, and the towel was extra so I had to rent one, but overall I really loved the pool with the strong water fountain that you could spot treat your ached body with when you pressed the button and positioned yourself just so. I also liked the smaller jacuzzi style pools that you are supposed to walk around for exercise but I mostly just rested where the jets were so I could get a spot treatment massage! The place is old and not “fufu” at all. It’s basic and a bit rundown, but if you’re just going for the mimarla waters then it’s h3aven! The service is lacking also. You’re kind of on your own there, be prepared.
