An undiscovered gem for your day to day tourists! As a famous pilgrimage site for Catholics, this beautiful Basilica should be visited by everyone and anyone. 15 minutes drive from the coast it’s certainly worth a half a days trip.

Our pilgrimage group stopped in Loreto to visit the Basilica della Santa Casa (Basilica of the Holy House) which encloses the Holy House of Nazareth and the Black Madonna. For us it was a very spiritual experience to visit the home of Our Lady and...More

Its well worth a visit to this charming town and beautiful church. This pilgrimage site has a reverent feel and is not overrun by tourists. The church is set in a beautiful square with some nice shops and cafes surrounding it, so you could spend...More

We happened upon Loreto by accident while doing a day trip discovery drive from Sirolo. I had heard of Loreto before, but was surprised to see this small, but pretty town teaming with tourists, all here to see the house of the Virgin Mary. The...More

First time there on occasion of our son’s first Pilgrimage there with the Order of Malta. Beautiful Mass celebrated on the Sunday for this event at the Santa Casa. Visit and prayer at the Madonna di Loreto. Very beautiful Sacrestia del Pomarancio

Although this is a very important church, for the catholic religion, and a lot of people travel to pray to this black Madona, I found the place almost empty!! The church is impressively decorated.... because at its center, there's Virgin Mary house, brought from Nazaret!!!

When in the Marche, this is a must-see stop: beautiful architecture, ina charming jewel of a town, a religious site which may, with faith, contain the stones of the home of the Holy Family from Nazareth. Tradition maintains that the house encased in a Bernini...More

This was our second visit to Loreto and the Holy House and it was as beautiful as the first. Wonderful to visit the tiny house in the middle of the Basilica, and prayer to our Mother.

Unless you are a very religious person (and even if you are, you don't actually have to believe it anyway, we are not talking about the articles of faith here) you have to take this place on faith. This charming basilica was built to house...More

We visited as tourists and not from a religious perspective. The basilica is beautiful both in and out with stunning architecture. Inside as well as it being a fascinating church there is the enclosed building brought from Nazareth by the Crusaders in 1294 which is...More

Yes, you can actually enter the Holy House itself, which is a remarkable experience. You can linger and take it in (in silence). There are two exits, one behind the altar and one opposite where you entered. We actually went... More
