The column of Saint Oronzo was closed for maintanenance works. The squuare has the Roman Amptiteatro, remnants of destroyed Sedile with tourist office, a palace in fascisto style, two charces and many cafes and gelateris.

There are some nice shops in the vicinity- it's a huge square more or less in the center of the old town with many streets radiating off the square.

A Roman amphitheater, a MacDonalds in a quasi-Fascist-style building, a beautiful small church, and business offices flank this central are through which tourists and residents alike pass every day.

In the midst of this very busy major square, we were stunned when loud speakers suddenly broadcast a famous Italian singer belting out Ave Maria. People paused and absorbed the beauty of the music. What a thoroughly European moment. Square boasts monuments, Roman theater remains.
