This little Medieval street is the prettiest spot in an otherwise underwhelming Ferrara. The narrow cobbled street is the perfect backdrop for photos. Wear sturdy shoes and bring your camera.

It`s nice, but as it was raining, this was not what I expected. Good to see that street in the Old town.

Our guide mentioned that when the buildings went up, taxes were assessed on the ground floor area, but not on the second floor - thus the creation of the rooms over the streets. Seemed like this area was less tourist-saturated than some other places. Wear...More

It is a well-preserved medieval alley in Ferrara. The street is quite long and definitely worth a walk on it

Must see it for yourself to admire the beautiful street. It’s very unique and photos don’t justify the beauty.

If you enjoy photography, you will enjoy walking along the historic Via delle Volte - an ancient cobblestone lane which crosses under a number of covered walkways. Beware of the cobblestones - the street is uneven and will penalize the inattentive.

This area probably gives a greater insight to life in old Ferrara than many of the more glamorous areas. It is very worthwhile taking a slow walk through to absorb the atmosphere and to think back in time and what this area may have seen.

This is a historic little street with a stone pebble surface which makes it very hard to walk on if you have foot problems or are not wearing walking shoes. Buildings need much restoration as does most of Ferrra s historic centre. It leads to...More

I agree with some reviews that this is not a architecturally stunning place, but anyway, in spite of being quite unpretentious, the area is full of local flavour and historic interest. Instead of having any outstanding building or element, it´s the whole itself -archs, alley,...More
