The church is a little bit further from other attractions of the historical centre of Ferrara, so it takes ~15-20min to get there. Remember to check the current opening times - when I visited, they were only open 9:30-11:30 and 15:15-16:45! A total of 3.5h...More

This monastery is definitely worth the walk. Although a little off the centre it is, in our opinion, one of the highlights of our visit to Ferrara. The frescoes are beautiful and the extraordinary atmosphere of the monastery, still in use, is a lasting memory.

This convent really is a hidden gem with a very special atmosphere and wonderful 500 year old frescoes, the best in Ferrara. It is important to check opening times to avoid disappointment but try and go so that you can attend afternoon vespers, a very...More

Beautiful trecento frescoes and gives a real feeling for many women's lives in the late medieval and early Renaissance periods.
