I cannot imagine how they built the castles on top of a tall mountain or any place in fact. It'd an amazing piece of art.

A short walk takes you to breathtaking views of the sea and countryside. A commanding view of the surrounding area.

We toured Erice mid September 2018 and thoroughly enjoyed strolling the streets of this enchanting medieval village. Although the accessibly to tour the castle was limited to a small external area, we felt it was worth it. Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes as...More

My husband and I toured Erice late September 2018. We loved it! From the Castle to the small shops along the narrow streets. The views were stunning. We drove from Castellamare Del Golfo, about an hour drive and right up to the top. That climb...More

Even with the relatively low entrance price of €4, it wasn’t worth it. We spent maybe 30 minutes walking around since one cannot go into any of the buildings. The views are nice, but they are nice from a number of locations in the town

The Castello di Venere is a beautiful place to see the whole grand area from above. The castle itself is mostly ruins of course but the location allows you gorgeous views all the way to the sea. Erice is located about 800 metres above Trapani....More

I would say about 15 minutes to walk up and down the hill plus he time of the visit (we spent about 15 minutes walking around the ruins). So about 30 minutes in total.
