To walk up this big cliff/mountain is really worth it. We spent 2 hours here, going up, looking at the historic places and the stunning view, taking pauses and going down. It costs 4 euros per person to walk up so bring money. Before you...More

Located on the edge of Catalo’s town centre, the castle is atop a rather steep cliff (which if memory serves me right is c250m high). Getting to the entrance and only path up is not so straight forward and in typical Italian style, signage is...More

Amazing views overlooking Cefalu and along the coast are the ample rewards for climbing to top of the 250 m La Rocco. Look for the signposted path along the right side of the Duomo in the main piazza. Follow the signs to the base of...More

Great climb (only one way up and down) with tremendous views at the top. Historically fascinating. Most people were finding the descent trickier than the climb.

Climbing La Rocca is a must in Cefalu. Take some water with you especially if you do it during the warm hours. Each step is worth the effort to have the fantastic view on the coast and the mountains.

Make sure you are fit and wear flat sensible shoes, preferably running shoes. The trails are very uneven and steep in parts but the view is worth it, we got lost going down and it gets very hot. Take water and have correct coins for...More

We started around 0830 to avoid the midday heat and using an old map (mistake) walked around the Rocca ( not just climbing to the fort on the very top). We climbed up to the temple of Diana and then walked down to the battlements...More
