Passeggiando per la cittadina ci siamo imbattuti in questa bella chiesa, facciata particolare, semplice, internamente molto gradevole e decorata, tanti dettagli artistici, bello l'altare e notevoli i soffitti.

Chiesa di architettura bella, con bel campanile gotico.
Non visitabile all’interno perché chiusa, sebbene giorno festivo.
Un fenomeno di pareidolia nella porta antistante di via Garibaldi.....Il Mostro pronto ad inghiottirvi!

Chiesa cittadina molto ampia, poco illuminata al suo interno con opere interessanti da vedere. Sarebbe bello se venisse data più importanza a questo bel patrimonio di Avigliana

Oggi in una giornata di gennaio praticamente primaverile, abbiamo deciso di dedicarla ad Avigliana. Prima il giro dei laghi, poi il castello, il centro storico e di conseguenza questa bella chiesa. Un po' buia all'interno, però degna di una visita. Sarebbe carina una visita guidata. Molto bello il presepe all'ingresso, visibile fino a fine gennaio. La prima volta che vedo in un opresepe meccanico, uno strumento che simula la neve. Fantastico

La chiesa si trova prima della piazza Conte Rosso. Risale al 1300. Sopra il portale lapideo gotico c'è una una lunetta affrescata che raffigura la Vergine col Bambino. La chiesa era chiusa ma leggo che l'atrio conserva l'affresco della Madonna col Bambino tra i santi Cristoforo, Giovanni Battista e Antonio Abate e una serie di scene la Visitazione, un Santo cavaliere, la Vergine e san Bernardino, le Sante Maria Maddalena e Caterina, il Martirio di sant'Agata. All'interno poi altre opere pittoriche. Si segnalano inoltre Il pulpito ligneo e un dipinto raffigurante l'Incoronazione della Vergine. Peccato non poterla visitare.

La chiesa, dedicata ai Santi Giovanni e Pietro e che fu edificata tra il 1284 ed il 1320, vanta una pregevole struttura architettonica modificata nel tempo con aggiunte barocche ed il restauro della facciata (XIX sec.).

L’interno, che è a navata unica, conserva un bel pulpito ligneo ed alcune interessanti opere databile tra il ‘400 ed il ‘600, come le tavole di Defendente Ferrari, l’Incoronazione della Vergine con il Beato Cherubino Testa e Santa Caterina d'Alessandria, 1631 ed altre.

Una chiesa molto apprezzabile e che meriterebbe maggiore fama

Si tratta di una chiesa romanico-gotica (restaurata a fine 800 e di recente) in posizione centrale nel nucleo storico di Avigliana: campanile romanico, frontone gotico a ghimberga. Varcato l'ingresso ci si trova in un atrio che contiene affreschi (piuttosto ammalorati) del 1400. Quando si entra nella chiesa vera e propria, le decorazioni sono barocche mentre su numerosi altari ci sono (o meglio, in alcuni casi ci dovrebbero essere, vista l'attuale rimozione per restauri) opere di Defendente Ferrari o di suoi collaboratori (prima metà del 500). Le notizie fornite nell'atrio e presso gli altari non aiutano a sufficienza a comprendere la storia critica delle opere stesse. L'interno è piuttosto buio, solo uno dei polittici risulta illuminato. Speriamo che -al ritorno dei dipinti dal restauro- si provveda ad una valorizzazione del complesso.
