Nice place as all the city of Arezzo is, during Xmas time is extremely easy to feel the ancient age all around you.

The Cathedral was impressive in its relative simplicity. Not too much gilt and decoration but still had a sense of tranquillity and reverance.

The cathedral was built from XIII to early XVI centuries in Romanesque-Gothic style. Nice frescoes inside Beautiful Neo-Gothic facade.

The Duomo is in the old town, the entire area is worth a good afternoon walk about. Be sure to visit the fortress which is a 5 min walk away. It has been restored and the view of Arezzo is amazing.

Make sure to dress properly, women cover shoulders, no shorts or short skirts. It is a beautiful cathedral. High ceilings, antiques, and still in use today. enjoy
