Great Short Walk
Nov 2020 • Solo
I took a brief stroll up to this beautiful spot which took less than 30 mins from the Car Park on Happy Valley Road. Great history and lovely views. Would have stayed longer but pushed for time and weather terrible. Next time.

Great circular walk
Aug 2020 • Couples
A highly recommended walk from the town centre. Great views of the coast and across to Anglesey and Snowdonia on a clear day, which we were fortunate to have. Allow three and a half hours if you want to enjoy the views, of which there are many!

Spiritual hideaway
Oct 2019
An easy walk from the car park takes you to this hidden gem. It is not hard to link the legends to our celtic ancestors and see druids and warriors making offerings to the lake.

Always tranquil
Jul 2019 • Couples
Great, steady 30 min walk from the car park or leisurely two hours from Aberdyfi. Water lilies in full flower in July / August. Good source of winberries in a good year. Take a picnic. Very noticeable that visitors take their rubbish home with them. Very friendly cattle will greet you on the farm track.

Lovely 3hr hike
Jun 2019 • Couples
Follow the road out of town, turn right at the sign for 'Bearded Lake' and an hour or so of sheep, gates and paths later you'll find yourself at the Bearded Lake. Lovely walk, best bit is the views towards the coast along the way, but worth doing. 3hrs walking time at a decent pace. 4hrs if you're taking your time. Google Maps walking directions get you there if you manage to get lost.

A beautiful tranquil lake
Mar 2019 • Couples
The lake is beautiful!! Easy to find. Park in the car park just as you turn into the farm. There is a snowdonia national park stone sign at the car park. Walk through the farm and up the hills to the lake. We stay in the holiday cottage on the farm every year, LLidiart y LLyn and walk the dog up to the lake every morning!

Nearly impossible to find-
May 2019 • Family
The journey and views are stunning. We took the car to the farm house and walked the rest. But without the written instructions from the Tourist Information centre we would have been lost as we tried to locate it from following signs and are convinced that they disappear. it would take a whole day to arrive walking from Aberdovey. Glad we drove and then walked the final 40 mins? Not clear where to park. The 'lake' itself is tranquil and isolated but nothing special. However the landscapes with the lambs and sheep across the estuary rival the Lake District and are amongst the best scenery in Britain.

Easy walk with stunning views of estuary along the way
Dec 2018 • Family
We walked from Aberdovey village and back all within 3 hours. The views along the way were stunning. Its an easy walk but you do have to go through very muddy farm fields , (the kind of mud that you sink into and your hiking boots falls off) at one point we had to pass directly by a farm house with someone living in a trailer on the property and he has 2 very unfriendly dogs that came running at us barking at baring their teeth. He did call them back in and they went eventually but he made no apology whatsoever. So be aware of this if you have small children or a dog with you . I imagine the lake itself would be beautiful on a blue sky day but we were there in low cloud on a drizzly day sadly.

Peaceful Spot
Aug 2018
It is quite a steep rough path to this lake, so one needs to be reasonably able, but is worth the effort to see a lovely lake (water lilies in season) and a little higher, views of the Dyfi estuary and Aberdyfi. The circular walk entails coming down a long steep hill which older knees did not appreciate, but this walk would be no problem if you are young/fit.

Very interesting site
Mar 2018 • Couples
Off the beaten track and hidden away in the hills near Fairbourne, this is a spectacular lake and well worth a visit. It is isolated and can only be reached on foot from the nearby car park.
