Pickering show piece our pride and joy our church is the most beautiful and stunning building in the town of Pickering. The font is a 1,000 year's old the church it's self is medieval and the murals prove that do your research . Check out the legend of the pike and ring !!! Welcome to Pickering 🦊🦊

Thank you for your lovely review. It’s such a shame that all the stunning paintings are hidden from view at the moment. Hopefully we will be able to open again soon.

The frescos are very interesting. Taking into account their history they are in a good state of preservation although not perfect. There is plenty of information explaining the frescos and their history.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. The paintings really are interesting and I love how each time someone fresh looks, they spot something different.

We were walking around Pickering on Sunday morning and heard the most wonderful church bells ringing I’ve ever heard - we had to leave town so went back Monday to look around the church. It’s lovely and the staff there very friendly. The painted walls are enthralling - well worth a visit although includes some steps to get up to the church.

It was lovely to meet with you all on Monday and to be able to put a face to a review! We were holding our Craft Hub so it was lovely that there were plenty of us there to show you around. There is a disabled access to the church and level access to the outside via the Hallgarth end of the church.

We were staying in Pickering for Christmas at a local hotel and attended 'midnight' mass on Christmas Eve. Everyone got a lit candle for the carol/holy communion service. The church looked so pretty with all the candles as the lights were dimmed. I love having a good old sing at Christmas. It can make you feel quite emotional. It was the one thing this year that made me feel 'Christmassy'. Thank you for a beautiful service.

Thank you for your lovely review. It is a really special service and I'm delighted you were able to join us this year. Everything always looks very special by candlelight, and you're right, it does make you feel quite emotional. Wishing you a blessed and peaceful 2020.

Myself and my husband took our two young grandchildren in to the church, it’s truly beautiful, the painting on the walls is magnificent, well worth going to see, we originally moved from Essex to pickering and can honestly say it’s a great place to visit, even move to as we did.

Thank you for your lovely review! Pickering is a lovely place to be. I'm delighted that you enjoyed your visit, and were able to spend some time showing your Grandchildren the paintings and the lovely Tree of Lights, which was lit at the special service in the afternoon. Each light represents someone special who isn't able to be with us this Christmas.
