About
Originally completed in 1910, ‘The Dome’ became a hub of activity and interest, not only because it was home to many attractions, but because of its stunning architecture and unique design. Almost 18 years after the venue’s final closure, Spanish City reopens following a restoration project that saw historical features brought back to their former glory and the introduction of new leisure facilities including; family-friendly venues, a high-quality steak and seafood restaurant, tearooms, event spaces and a Champagne bar taking residence inside the famous landmark.

Amazing afternoon tea
Sep 2021 • Family
Amazing afternoon tea this afternoon. James, our waiter, was lovely and the range of sandwiches, scones and cakes was delicious. We were celebrating four generations of birthdays and it was a suitable special venue to mark the occasion.

Above and beyond
Aug 2021
I took some friends for afternoon tea on my birthday 27th August. One of my friends required a special liquid diet, I have to say the catering staff went above and beyond to provide a special tea for her, a great deal of though had been put into the variety of favours provided and the way served. it was beautifully presented by the waitress who served us, it was so appetizing that we all had..

It really was a brilliant experience, thank so much to all the staff, we will be back at Christmas

Best roast ever!
Aug 2021
We visited 1910 for Sunday lunch, what an experience, the food, the service and atmosphere were excellent. This was the best roast I've had, fantastic value for money. Well done to everyone involved.

Had fish and chips in Trenchers. They were absolutely amazing as usual in what has to be the most stunning location in the UK. Will be back very soon.

Beautiful
Aug 2021
Several little eateries in the revamped Spanish City which is stunningly beautiful a few steps away from the beautiful beach and upgraded promenade. Trenchers is lovely and a pianist plays at the restaurant several evenings per week. Victorias Tearooms sells the most delightful and delicious cakes and savouries with a cuppa.

The perfect local wedding
Jul 2021 • Couples
Spanish City is the perfect venue for any wedding. The dome is a spectacular setting for a wedding. It is a place of nostalgia for my family having grown up in the area and lived through many regenerations of the iconic building. The team at Spanish City did everything possible to make our day magical. We had to delay twice due to Covid-19 but Rachel, their events manager, could not have been more helpful. Mo, their master of ceremonies, was the perfect person to coordinate our day. Our guests all commented on how beautiful the food was, the creme brûlée was a particular hit!

Delightful Afternoon Tea
Jul 2021
Had a wonderful afternoon tea with my best friend and two god-daughters in the 1910 Restaurant on the upper floor of the Spanish City. The selection of sandwiches, quiches, scones and cakes were superb. The service was first class and I would not hesitate to recommend this. We had a lovely table overlooking the Promenade and Beach. This was my first visit since the venue was renovated a few years ago and it is lovely to see this wonderful old building being given a new lease of life. I shall certainly be making further trips here whenever I can.
