The Angel of the North is free to visit and is accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week.Free car parking for cars, motorcycles and motorhomes.

As we approached it the wingspan was an unbelievable sight, (175 feet) The information board provides all the interesting facts about the Angel. One fact I found was that it weighs 200 tones, the body 100 tonnes and the wings 50 tonnes each.
It’s well worth a visit. The post code is NE9 7TY

If you're in the area anyway it's worth a detour to see it up close. It's not as big as I thought it would be tbh. From the A1 it's not impressive at all but maybe that's a good thing so drivers keep their eyes on the road! No facilities in the visitor car park Loos and a small cafe would be good

Don't miss a visit to this remarkable sculpture. It is visible from the main roads approaching Gateshead but there is parking available to take a walk around the location and get some great photos.

You won't be here for long, but you can't start a trip to the north of England without a stop at the Angel. It's only a very short diversion from A1, there's free parking, it's a good spot for a picnic and there's often an ice cream van on site too.

The Angel of The North Just t Amazing, It has a warm welcome for us all with open arms and smiles at those who just need a smile and a warm hug. To Stand at the Base of the Angel and Look up and just take in the Beauty of the Art itself and the Hard work that went into this fine Statue only makes one appreciate it so much more, This is such a Northern Icon and Respect is always shown to it when on a visit But For those who just a want a Fast Burger and a Mucky Tea from a Geasy Spoon Cafe then this is not the place for them as they clearly can not show Appeciation and They can call it a Rust Bucket But to Us Northern Folks its our Rust Bucket and we are very
proud of Our Angel and they should just Move on and let those who do want to see The Angel and Get a Chance to smile from within, The Angel is A Northern Thing Just Like Kes is .

Iconic, fascinating, beautiful .We travel to Northumberland 3 or 4 times per year, and an absolute must is a stop at this amazing, sublime structure. Our holiday begins as we see it ahead of us, emphasising all we love about the North. The warm welcoming people, majestic scenery, wonderful coastlines and much more. The Angel sums up for us the strength and beauty of the North in its entirety. A stunning beauty.

The Angel is a huge piece of iconic art for the North East. There is a small carpark next to it which is free to use. It is up a hill when you get here but the paths are mainly tramac. The sculpture itself is rather large. There is plenty of space for photo opportunities. If travelling North up the A1 you see its face. When travelling South you see the back of its head and wings peeking out the trees.

Obviously an iconic sculpture known to almost anyone in the UK. But the surroundings were impeccabley kept. Freshly mowed, not a scrap of litter (plenty of bins near by) Ice cream van in the summer and free parking. Well done that council.
