The zoo had a wide variety of different animals. Some took a view visits to the enclosure to spot, due to the space and privacy afforded especially to the bigger animals (this is a definite positive!). We had a nice lunch-time beer at the cafe...More

So many animals to see you need plenty of time to enjoy the zoo. Seeing the lions and tigers and other animals was great but for me seeing 3 pandas and 5 elephants was amazing.

Zoos in my opinion are controversial due to wild animal confinements, so I try to avoid them as much as possible. In comparison to other zoos, this is a rather big zoo. The best thing about it is that the animals' habitats are relatively spacious...More

I visited it in a nice sunshine day. I saw some animals. Some were sleeping, but overall was ok. Restrooms everywhere, clean.

The only reason we took this train ride was because it was included in our Vienna pass. It is a lovely little ride, but if it were not included, we probably would never have taken it. From our observation about 95% of the people on...More

The animals were well housed and well cared for. It was a good chance to see some endangered species that I certainly will be unlikely to see in the wild. As with most zoos some animals were sleeping in well concealed corners of their enclosures...More

This is the real example of how every zoo should look like! And every other zoo should learn from this example. Huge with a lot of space, clean, multi-lingual with animals that look happy and well taken care of. As an animal lover, I visited...More

Vienna’s 13th district has always been in the shadow
of Schönbrunn Palace and its gardens, but has
interesting hidden gems waiting to be discovered.
Allow half a day for the imposing Habsburg residence
and the gardens with Gloriette belvedere. Reserve the
other half to discover the secret charms of this posh
residential neighbourhood. Sneak out of the gardens at
Hietzinger Tor (Hietzing Gate) and head down

Yes the zoo will be open. I would say it would be between 10- 15 degrees.
