Also, Andrea della Rubbia art! Incredible location, at a living monastery... many chapels of worship... an active church... so much to see and feel around here... beautiful mountains and trails are near by.

"This is a major chapel within the Sanctuary of La Verna, located at the end of the Corridor of the Stigmata. In the center front is the Crucifixion earthenware by della Robbia. On the floor there is a plaque commemorating the place where St. Francis was said to have received the Stigmata. The headstone at the entrance of the chapel depicting the saint receiving stigmata from the seraph. The chairs in front are also noteworthy because the beautiful pictures and portraits on them were not painted, but made with wood inlay. This is a place where you can sit for hours observing and contemplating."

Impressive art and building as with many catholic churches and cathedrals. Pretty and worth seeing though. Free entry.

No stars, no images, no evaluations, no frills, no gimmicks.
Here you are confronted with yourself.
Here, you are in front of an invisible mirror, if you only have the "eyes" to see it.

The question is: do you like what you see?

This is an incredibly intimate and special place. The memorial stone sits at the foot of the altar and I sat down on the floor - there were two other people meditating there - and didn't move for 30 minutes. The whole place is special, but this was the highlight of La Verna for me.
