This is a great idea and I'm sure a magical experience if you can actually see the northern lights and or even the stars (which we didn't). We stayed in February and because of the weather we couldn't see the sky as it was covered with clouds all night. We also had some rain which kept us awake half the night dripping on the top of the plastic bubble. As a result of that the experience wasn't worth the money for us. The facilities are basic and small. There is no service staff whatsover and guests are left in bubbles on their own for the night. There is nothing inside the main bubble apart from bed with blankets and a light (headboard will be useful for some support when sitting down). The tour was ok but bear in mind you need to pay for your dinner and breakfast the next day so the overall cost of this experience is very hight and you don't even get water provided in the bubble. The 'check out' is at 8.30 in the morning as the guides need to be back in time to pick up next tourists. The tour was good but involved lots of driving around. Our guide was very knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions during the tour. The soundtrack in thr car was also very good but these were the only positives to be honest.

We had the most amazing Golden Circle tour and Bubble stay! We were picked up from our hotel in Reykjavik with two other couples, then taken to all the stunning Golden Circle landmarks. The Secret Lagoon was a fun final stop before heading to our Bubble for the night. It was a freezing day and night (-20!) so the Bubble was very cold, but the electric blankets were really cosy so the bed was warm. It’s a bit of a walk to the toilets (especially in the cold) but was all part of the experience! We were really lucky to see the Northern Lights from our Bubble too. Highly recommend as part of a special trip.

What an absolutely once in a life time experience! We were picked up from our hotel in Reykjavik along with 2 other couples. Our tour guide Karen was an absolute star! She took us on the golden circle tour and the sights were just breathtaking. We saw mountains, glaciers, waterfalls, geysers and stopped for some of the best food we had in Iceland (dinner & breakfast). The northern lights were putting on a show before we even reached the pods. We were shown to our pod which was equipped with a bed & which lots of nice warm blankets and an electric blanket on the mattress, unfortunately one of ours wasn’t working but we kept warm enough & snuggled together. Watching the northern lights in bed was one of the most magical experiences. We were lucky, we were told there was no guarantee we would see them from the pods. The only down side is it’s a bit of a walk to the service hut if you need to use the toilet in the night but it was an adventure so wouldn’t change a thing! I’ve already recommended it to a few people & wouldn’t hesitate to spend the night in one of the bubbles again.

My wife and I enjoyed the golden circle and bubble your on my 60 th birthday on 26 December this year.
We went with our best friends from Australia.
The tour was fantastic from the weather, our well presented vehicle and beautiful host and guide Agloo ( hope I spelt it correctly), she was amazing throughout. Witty, intelligent, informative and very friendly.
Highlights are many including a relaxing duo at the secret lagoon but undoubtedly the night in the bubble was so relaxing.
We didn’t get the northern lights but a beautiful soft dusting of snow.
I would call this a must do when in Iceland

We skipped the tour because we had already visited almost all of the included locations on both the Golden Circle and South Coast on a prior trip. Unfortunately they do not offer a lodging only option, but I really wanted the experience of staying in a bubble. However, I’m still glad that we stayed there. I was able to surprise my husband, right up to the point of walking up to the bubble. We had a clear, beautiful night (but alas, no Northern Lights). We found the bubble, bathrooms, and showers were all clean, comfortable, and warm (given the electric blanket under the fitted sheet). Certainly not luxurious but the bubble was definitely unique. While we could see the light from nearby bubbles and occasionally heard voices, we felt that it was very peaceful and sufficiently private. We stayed at the South Coast location. Our host met us there and was very friendly and helpful. My biggest suggestions are to offer an accommodation only option for experienced Iceland travelers and to expand on the shared shower hut — there are only 2 small showers which were very busy in the morning.

The entire Buuble tour was fantastic. All the destinations up to the Buuble were beautiful and timed perfectly. We had ample time to refresh and eat during the tour, so we were not tired at all. The car was a Suburban SUV - big and comfortable for the entire journey. Our tour guide Bjarni was excellent - nice to talk to, very patient even if we were getting late, and very informative about Iceland. He also stopped at any location we requested for, if it was on the way to the next destination. Would love to do this tour again!

One of our favorite things we did on our honeymoon to Iceland - whether or not you see Northern Lights, you get a fantastic view of the stars and sky overnight. The heating pads in the bed made it feel really cozy and I was super impressed that the facilities were so well heated when you needed to use the bathroom (not nearly as rudimentary as you would think it might be given that you're staying in a bubble!). We added a "treat" to our package waiting for us once we got back to the bubble for the night which was really thoughtfully put together. We loved our guide (agh, we can't remember how to get close to his name - BjeÞka?), as he never tired of answering our many questions about Iceland, and the small group experience made this feel very personal. We enjoyed getting to know the four others on the tour. The driving portion being done in a Suburban makes it feel less touristy than a big bus. All the stops were great even though we had to move through them a little more quickly than we would have done otherwise. It was really nice to go to the Secret Lagoon as an alternative to the Blue Lagoon, too! It's a must to get outside the city, and this is a really special addition to your trip.

I went on the South Coast tour with three friends in October 2022. Our guide, Sóldís, was absolutely wonderful! She was friendly, super capable and highly knowledgeable! She taught us loads about the sites we went to as well as about Icelandic culture. Unfortunately, we didn't see the northern lights - but it didn't even matter... the trip was so wonderful despite that! I would definitely recommend this trip, and Sóldís, to anyone!

We had such a great time on our buuble experience. Our tour guides Olaf and Solis were super engaging and made sure we had a great time. My partner and I had just arrived that day so they even gave us good cues for nap time while we traveled from REK to the south coast without letting us miss any of the sites. They really let us drive the experience by letting us choose when to leave our stops, where to eat, etc. Olaf’s playlist was also top notch! As for the stay in the buuble, it was great- definitely a little chilly but the heated blankets make the night comfortable. We saw lots of stars and the northern lights!
All in all a very cool experience- would totally recommend it!

I would like to book this place in September without doing the tour (we are doing an Iceland stop-over and very limited time). I’ve read in a couple blogs that this is possible and I’ve reached out to the property a couple times via email and have received no response. Has anyone done that or have more information on that? TIA!

Hi I’m after some feedback as to whether my 78 year old mother would be able to do the hill climb to the Buubble hotel. Anyone who has been and experienced the south coast tour with the overnight bubble hotel, I would appreciate your feedback as to how steep and fit you may need to be to do this?

You can only sleep there if you book one of their tours. The bubbles are very isolated and only accessible with their drivers.
Hi, how did you book this? I’m just a bit concerned that you have to pay in IDK online. Thank you.

I'm not sure what IDK is, but I did book online. They are very good at communicating through email. They are also very honest--my daughter lost a ring at the bubble and they mailed it to us immediately.
Can we do this tour with 20 month old baby?

I am afraid I wouldn’t do this tour with a 20 month old. I would wait until they were a few years older.

What time do we leave the buubble hotel and get drop off to our hotel in Reykjavik? Are we allowed to check out earlier and get a taxi ? Planning another tour and pick up is at 9:30am at our hotel.

I'm interested in booking the South Coast tour but am wondering about their steep hill incline disclaimer, can anyone help me understand how steep the incline is and how long is the hike?

Hi,
If I understand your question well, the hike to get to the bubbles is about 5 minutes maximum and there is a man made pathway(stairs) so really nothing adventurous.
The incline of the hill is not to steep, as mentioned before it has been well organised and very low risk.

I´m booking the golden circle tour and buubble night on mid Februeary. Just one question... Is it already dark when you get to the bubble? or do you actually get to see what the hotel has to offer with day light?
Thx

I was there in October, you arrive after dinner, so unless you go in the summer months when there are fewer dark hours it will be dark on arrival. February still has limited daylight, so you will certainly arrive in the dark. This was actually for the best because they look beautiful lit up at night. There are absolutely no predators or creatures to worry about in Iceland. There was a short wooded trail from the bathrooms to your bubble which my guide lead me down the first time. But if you need to get up to use the restroom at night you will need to bring a light/ use your phone. You will have an amazing time!... Mine was so great, I'm actually going back in feb :)
