    Unique experience.
Amazing market with artisanal Icelandic foods, Good value jewellery and knitwear. Also some unique curios, militaria and rock-wear. Do watch out for the guy near the cafe who tried charging my wife 125,000 Isk (£711 GBP) for a raw emerald silver ring, actually worth between 30-100 GBP. Caveat emptor but the Icelanders there are fair and honest.

Flea or flee. The choice is yours.
If you fancy killing some time whilst wandering around town (or need some shelter from the blizzard outside) then pop in. Only open Saturday and Sunday from 11am this place is really eclectic. Second hand stalls mingle with new offerings. There's also a small corner for local delicacies such as dried fish, liquorice and the chance to try the infamous fermented shark. Be warned it's not a place for the easily offended....I saw whale, foal and horse meat available a few feet away from a stall which I'm pretty sure had real fur coats for sale! Make your own mind up but check your morals at the door....

Great place to explore a wide range of "stuff" from touristy to practical. Record store amazing
We visited this market on Sunday morning, just as it opened. As per most reviews it is a really mix of stalls, from touristy tat to everyday practical foodstuffs etc with some "junk" amongst it all Highly recommended as an experience. It was relatively quiet with a number of stalls closed / not present due to time of year Personal favourite was second hand record/ CD stall- Excellent range of classic albums from 70s- 90s (well from my point of view anyway) and most in very good condition. Bought several and could easily have bought a lot more

    Flea Market
Open on weekends start at 10am , located in capital city of Reykjavik. Lots lots of varieties .......textiles, food , sorvenirs, gift , antiques , photo , paintings , etc etc. Traders are ok , allowed you to view and check / hold the items . Prices are slightly on the high side........infact everything in Iceland is quite expensive . A sign said " please do not bargain, we are just a small trader " A must visit , you will definately find something worth buying, I bought chocolates ........delicious n reasonable price.

    Worth an hour to visit
Great hour spent mooching around. A mix of antique or flea market stuff; sweaters, jewelry, crystals and hidden amongst that are hand crafted unique items. Nice blustery walk along the seafront to get there. Lovely

    Oddities Galore!
This was a great place to browse on a weekend. You’ll see a lot of vintage things and odds and ends. Lots of souvenirs to get as well, but I think in terms of pricing you’ll be able to find cheaper elsewhere- but keep in mind that you do support local vendors when you shop here. Def worth to check it out!

Very nice, the best place in Reykjavík to buy handmade jewellery , crafts and lopapeysa ( sweater)
I checked every shop in the centre( including hand knitting association, Alafoss, THORVALDSENSBAZAR )and here definitely you’ll find the best price.
I bought 3 lopapeysa for less than 50.000 kronas! ( of course I bargained a LOT with the guy) I bought from the Icelandic guy selling trinkets , he sells bric a brac and a few lopapeysas ( he sells other women jumpers who live in the countryside) they are all handmade in Iceland with Icelandic wool, some has the name of the person who knitted it, he also has some second hand which are very cheap but not all second hand are Icelandic wool ir handmade( it’s a mix if real lopapeysa and old generic jumpers) I recommend his stall, he also gave my teenage daughter a few gifts to put her jewellery in.
The other stall we liked was Hidden People selling nice hand made crafts at a very good price and another one selling lava jewellery ( an Icelandic lady was the owner) the item was quality I paid around £11 ( 2000 krona) much cheaper than the souvenir shops on the high street.
Just be careful because there are some fake Chinese products being sold there ( jumpers and jewellery and toys)

I was so excited for this and it's really a dud. If you're surgically looking for cheap (as in sweaters for 150 us dollars) then this is absolutely the place to go. For any other reason, skip it. The selection is poor and it's a lot of the same stuff over and over. Most prices, other than for icelandic wool sweaters, are not any better than what you can find anywhere else in the city.

There are so many things to browse at the Flea market! The weather was warmer than I expected in July, so I needed a light weight short before hiking the volcano. I found just what I needed for only 400 kronur (like $3.50ish). The coolest thing though are all of the people there, tourists and locals. We were lucky enough to see a couple of groups of young guys doing the bachelor party thing. They parade the "groom to be" around and add strange clothing (which can be found at the market). I imagine this doesn't happen all of the time, but Iceland had just opened up in the end of June, so things were happening! BUT...... They are only open on the weekends!!

This is an active flea market (Google the meaning). This is not a mall.
There are new & used goods here. You can also barter here, some local made and some goods from China. It's set up to get requirements for life on this island.
If you walk thru the stores in town, you see the volcanic salt, cinnamon rolls, lava rocks, and wool hats/sweaters - you will find it all here and save 30-50% compared to these shops.
There is also a hot dog vendor inside (2 hot dogs & coke $10 us) Chip $3 US.
I have photos and receipts as proof. Expect a wool hat to be roughly $40US. Most of the folks there make it! There is a little bakery and meat place too.

I got the coolest wool hair scrunchys from a teen girl across from the hot dog place. She doesn't speak English, but her Mom does a little.

You should go here to look for cheaper woollen sweaters. There are a few sellers. The best one is an English speaking lady who sells sweaters and other woollen accessories made by 5 different women. There are plenty of choices and sizes, all hand made. Very good service. Prices are about 20 000 ISK when in other stores they are at least 27 000 and more ISK. There are also other sellers than this lady which you can check out.

This was something that I wanted to experience while in Reykjavik. I think more because it might have something you just can't find in the shops downtown. I was right! Ended up purchasing a lopapeysa handknitted by the vendor herself. This one of a kind sweater has already brought me so much joy. Most vendors accept credit card. There was just enough stuff to look at, we got there an hour before they closed and didn't have a whole lot of time to browse.

There is a mini market where you can buy fish and I think cheese? We didn't have time nor the proper ways to carry it back home in our luggage. The Kolaportid Flea Market is located across the street from the Harpa Center. Only open on the weekends. Happy shopping!

I had just arrived in Reykjavik on March 27, 2022. I stopped an Icelander on the street who directed me to the Kolaportid Flea Market. I found it and happily walked around touching things and just taking in the sights. I left after an hour and walked around the corner not realizing I was entering another entrance to the building. What an excellent mistake! There I found a delightful shop owner named "Gem", and what a gem she is! Her handmade soaps are exquisitely scented and I purchased a real treasure. See pic. I hope she enlarges her space and adds more great items. Can't wait to return!
