Rammagerdin is a MUST stop in the city. Plan to spend some time there, to ensure you don't miss anything. You can find similar things throughout the city for less money, but you will not be guaranteed quality products and professional customer service. The wool products are first-class, and they offer SO many nice things related to Iceland. They've been around since 1940 - we know why - quality merchandise at a fair price with a professionalism staff. We always shop @ Rammagerdin. You will be happy you did, too!

The sales rep charged me twice the amount. My total was 11,100 ISK (2 Youth Football Replicas and patch) I saw the receipt and saw I was charged 19,000 ISK. I was walking back and I noticed the sales rep tried walking away from me as if he was trying to hide. I showed him the receipt and the price tags and he said it was a mistake and he will correct. He took my card and swiped it and gave me a receipt ( which I still have) with a -9,700 ISK on it. It's been 17 days since I left Iceland and the refund never came through.

I've emailed already and I am not getting a response neither. I called the number and the number DOES NOT EXIST!

This store charged $6000 American for a small package of volcanic salt. Buyer beware. My credit card caught it. Yours might not. They also used RF reader on a card I bet used in the store.

I enjoyed my shopping experience here. A very nice place to pick up some souvenirs. I purchased a Fischersund/Rammagerdin lava Ilmolia fragrance burner and oil fragrance.

Kristin at Rammagerdin was very helpful with a follow-up shipment in late June 2023 to replenish my Fischersund oil fragrance via phone and email recently. Very nice customer service.

I thought on our last day of our 10 day trip my wife and I would buy some Icelandic sweaters. We each found one and paid quite a bit for them . 100% Icelandic wool it said on the labels. Even had a small story of the person that designed them. We take them home and now we look at them. you have to look for the label inside, on the back, toward the bottom : "Made in China" . So what is it? Icelandic wool shipped to China, manufactured and sent back to Iceland to sell? That wasn't what was explained to me. I was told specifically they were made there. I go to Iceland I want a sweater made in Iceland. So disappointed. CHECK THE LABEL !!!

So much beautiful handcraft! We were visiting Reykjavik and were attracted to the 'big glass building' only to find a giftshop inside. I do not like shopping! Found and exquisite Icelandic sweater and am now hoping for cool weather :)
The staff was very helpful in pointing out that I could get a refund on the taxes paid at the airport. I followed her instructions and it was a matter of minutes.

'Rammagerdin' means frames. Although they no longer sell picture frames, I came upon some wool garments, made by Varma, hanging at the back of the store! There were 3 kinds of varying styles and all of local Icelandic quality.

The store clerk was friendly, gave his opinion about the styles and suitability, and was informative about tax refunds. He packed the item neatly in a canvas store bag. It was a pleasant exchange of small talk and personalized service that made the whole experience quite memorable!

I too have been misled by Rammagerdin (at their duty-free outlet at the airport) into paying Icelandic prices for a Chinese sweater. That such an unethical practice is allowed to continue unchecked does no credit to genuine Icelandic products, nor indeed to Icelandic society itself

I spent 170 eur today on one of these ‘Icelandic’ jumpers only to see a Made in China label on the inside at the bottom!! I am absolutely gutted as i love the colours and fit and thought it was genuine. I will be going back to the shop to get a refund
