Beautiful locally made creative goods! A perfect alternative to the traditional tourist souvenirs!!
Wonderful artists and makers have produced goods from locally sourced materials — wool, fish skin, lava, driftwood and more. This artist’s coop has lovely maker goods with a local flair. There are many, many tourist and souvenir stores in Reykjavik but many carry items made in China. Support these wonderful makers and you will find a treasure for sure💜

    Special Place for Local Gifts
What an unexpected pleasure finding this small shop filled with unique items made by craftswomen. I spent almost an hour looking at everything before selecting a hat, earrings, and some cool cord holders just right for gift giving. Do find this shop if you are in the area of the Old Harbour in Reykjavik.

    Inspired Women Makers' Gallery
Ugh wish I had found this fabulous shop earlier! Inspired and creative work out of foud and uocycled materials such as reclaimed wood, horse hair, fish skin and - of course - wool. I found a one-of-a-kind upcycled Icelandic sweater.

The shop - really a curated collection from various artists - sells high-quality, unique handmade objects, some wearable, some just for art's sake. Lovely store. Find natural wool items.

I stumbled across this women artist cooperative by accident, but returned to it on purpose several times during our stay in Reykjavik! The range of arts offerings is diverse, from textiles to jewelry to ceramics and more. The work is exquisite. And the women artists who own and run the shop are wonderful hosts. If you are looking for something beautiful and unique to give, or to remember your visit to Iceland, do yourself a favor and skip the "puffin shops" and support these exceptional local artists.

I have been coming to this store since 2013. I have been many times since and I always make it a point to come to this store. I buy something unique every time. It is either gifts for myself (my favorite is the round rolling glasses with the blue dot by Kristin AGardarsdottir), family and friends at home and even for my Icelandic friends. At least one of the artists is always in the store and they are happy to show you their work and the work of the other female artists. Very unique jewelery (my wife has a nice colorful ball necklace), music boxes, ceramic and glass cups/glasses and fish skin products among other things. You will not be dissapointed. It's also nice because it is not on the main shopping street Laugavegur which is over run at time with touristy items. You definitely won't find touristy items here. You will not be dissapointed. I look forward to going back next time and I guarantee that I will.

Kirsuberjatred is a cooperative of local artisans and every item in the stores is truly unique. I saw nothing like it in Reykjavik and strongly recommend a visit for those who want something "off-the-beaten path" that is more artistic than touristic. Objects in the shop aren't cheap, but it's worth paying a bit more to get something authentic. Service is friendly and helpful without getting in the way of browsing. A highlight for a person like me who enjoys quirky and well-crafted artistry.

We literally stumbled upon the store when we first parked in downtown Reykjavik. Right across from the public parking garage! The store is run by women artists and only sells their art which includes jewelry, pottery, fish skin purses and gifts. Beautiful lava rock bracelets and other "only in Iceland ' items. A must stop for everyone in Reykjavik!

This is an artist cooperative and is a must visit. There are 14 artists and there are sweaters (more stylish than the typical heavy Icelandic, silver rings and earrings with stingray inserts (not quite the right word), creative fish skin purses, bracelets, earrings. Necklaces made with lava, but way more creative than what you will see elsewhere. Bowls made of slices of citrus fruit, jewelry made a driftwood is silver bezels. You can see I am quite enthusiastic. Stop in there. You will find things you will not find elsewhere.

My eyes were aglow the second I entered the door, A wide selection of completely unique and handmade Icelandic items, from bowls made of dried radish to sweet little leather shoes for babies. I could have bought one of everything! Can't wait until my next trip to Iceland to visit again.
