Walking along the Zemunsky promenade, I saw this tower from afar. When I walked through the courtyards, I saw the steps to go up to her. On the way, you can enjoy beautiful views of the city and the river. Up close, the tower looks great, but unfortunately it was not possible to go inside, as I had arrived at the closing time in the evening. Next to the tower is a restaurant and bar, from which you can also observe wonderful views.

More popularly known as the Millenium tower, this is the best spot to experience the classic Zemun views. Parking can be an issue in Zemun, so you might have to walk a bit but it's totally worth it. There is a cafe in the compound if you want to enjoy a drink overlooking the view.

Very nice place with a beautiful view over old Zemun and all the way to confluence of Sava and Danube. It is also called The Millennium Tower because it was built (together with 3 more towers in Austria-Hungary as border markers of their empire) to celebrate 1000 years of Hungarian presence in Europe. A little tricky to climb up for an XXL person because of the narrow stairs but its worth it. Inside are also a gallery, and a small souvenir shop. Just beside the tower (on the left) you can have a drink in a small cafe with good choice of imported beers, or eat at a restaurant (on the right) with huge terrace and continue to enjoy the view. Just behind the tower is a cemetery you should also pay a visit.

Nice view of the old town of Zemoun, the Danube river and the north side of Belgrade. Nearby a nice pub to take a break and relax. A monument with great historical value.

The Gardow Tower is on the hilltop of Zemun, a lovely suburb of Belgrade. You can walk through Zemun up to the hill so you need comfortable shoes :) But the view from the top is amazing!!! The Danube river and Zemun at its best! The Tower is a museum as well with ticket and next to it is a cafe with excelent view if you need a drink after the walk.

Easy and rather fast climb really worth the view! Also there is nice neighbourhood near this tower: small and hilly streets, cozy houses.

There is a bit of a climb required to reach the tower but there were some small old buildings and homes to see along the way.The surrounding view was beautiful and the tower was incredible to see.

Tower of Sibinjanin Janko (Janos Hunyadi, Millenium Tower) was built on the ruins of old fortress from 14th century. Defense walls and angular towers are the only legacy of old fortress. I came here almost two weeks ago and climbed up the hill from Lagumska Ulica, just out of curiosity, does anyone know the actual height of the Gardoš Hill? And what is the total amount of steps in the stairway?

מהי הכתובת שאומר לנהג מונית מבלגרד למגדל?
האם יש בזמון שווקים לקנות?
Written 8 August 2017
