After many years visiting Halki we know where we like to be and we make a bee line for Kania. A most beautiful bay with crystal clear water which we reach on foot. The walk over is one of our Halki highlights. You can take the mini bus or now the new taxi boat service run by Garifalia's dad Gianni. You'll receive a warm welcome from Garifalia and Panniotis, who always offer us a lift when they pass us as we walk, which we refuse but they do take the rucksack! The taverna provides excellent food in a lovely setting and the prices are very reasonable. If you eat at the taverna the sunbeds are free, otherwise they are six euros each.

but a very small stretch of beach. However if you like swimming, there’s plenty of room to do so away from the beach. Can be rather exhausting walking there for so little when it is very hot.

I do not think that I have been to a beach taverna where the food was consistently superb before. The staff worked very hard and gave a very personal service. They remembered my name after only one visit and knew where we liked to be on the beach and what we liked to drink. They all wore masks and maintained social distancing. The facilities were kept very clean.

Walked to the beach from the port area. The beach itself is nothing special in my opinion it’s very small . It’s dominated by a bar , the service there is good and the staff are really friendly but the beach was packed when I was there , no room for the people coming in the boat , sun loungers 3 euros though so that was reasonable. Not a place I would go back to at all apart from the taverna which was really nice
