Neighbourhood: Parque das Nações
This neighborhood was built up at the end of the 1990s mostly because of the Expo '98. The pavilions and structures that once were the home of all the Expo's attractions and exhibits are still culturally and artistically significant. In Parque das Nações you'll explore conference and concert pavilions, a shopping center, trendy restaurants and an enjoyable cable car ride you can't miss out on. On top of this, the amazing Lisbon Oceanarium (one of the most spectacular things you'll ever see in the city) will take your breath away: its respect and will to preserve natural wildlife is uncanny. Easily accessible by metro, bus or taxi from the city center, Parque das Nações is highly recommended for anyone who'll spend more than 3 days in the Portuguese capital.

I am not sure that we saw all of it as we were entertaining a four year old, however, there is a huge amount to see and enjoy (for kids of all ages). We liked the way that entertainment was fused with learning. The props/exhibits are high quality and interactive, designed to engage even the mildly curious. Try riding the cycle on the high wire (with counter balance below!), or go to the climbing wall, study light refraction, or go to the ground floor to be educated about water and climate. We thought this was a top class facility with much to enjoy and plenty of space to walk around.

We love a science museum and knew we'd come here. It's closed Mondays though so watch out if you're planning your trip..
Kids (8&7) loved it. We bought a family ticket which you can't buy in advance, and it's for all day. We managed to exit and return later which was great.
It's on 2 floors and lots of things to do. There's a dedicated section to toddlers too.
We spend 2.5 hours in total over 2 trips in a day. We had lunch and visited the Oceanario in between and kids insisted on returning back - and who can blame them. Love seeing them have a blast

This is one of the best Science Museum’s we have been to that is geared towards children, our nine year old loved it! There are lots of interactive displays and things for the kids to play with. Don’t miss the chance to draw your own fish and then see it on screen as well as engaging with a robot. The museum is near the Oriente train station in the Parque das Nações.

Very disappointed with this museum. It was highly recommended to me. If you have no children or children under 3 years old, move on. The activities are mainly for children (who can speak and move). But if you are an adult you will be bored and learn little. The price will then be a little high for the short time you will stay there. On the other hand, if you have children, then there, jackpots for them. They will have fun all afternoon and learn things.

I am glad I added this to our itinerary. My year old and 11 year old really enjoyed this museum.
There are nice activities before the entrance. We did all the exhibits in about 2 hrs.
It's so interactive, and there were so many exhibits that there were no lines. The staff was very, very friendly.
Great museum!

Really entertaining for our seven year old. He doesn’t like walking around cities so this was a great find as the whole family enjoyed.
I didn’t rate the aquarium next door - far too busy.

I would say only 80% of the exhibits actually made much scientific sense. Over half of the museum seemed to be geared to kids younger than 7? Overall it was very average, but my kids did like the crafts part at the end, but even that was lacking. The electronic table did have charged batteries etc. it was all and all overpriced and hyped up for what you actually received.

We are 2 biochemistry students and are not easily impressed by science museums, but this one blew us away. A great way to spend a rainy afternoon. I had so much fun, doing all sorts of mostly physics related experiments. It is completly interactive, you can try everything yourself. I was also impressed with the children playroom, sort of wished I could join them. If I had any kids, I would definitely bring them here, but it is a lot of fun for adults as well. Highly recommend!

This science museum is among the best we've visited (including NEMO in Amsterdam). The place is really well thought out and we visited twice and spent 4-6 hours each time. It has many things for the youngest to the oldest person and really lovely staff who will take the time to help with experiments in the Doing room and help with any questions in the other areas. We were glad there was English signs and information for every exhibit also as we have found this is not always the case in Europe.
