This was one of the highlights of our trip, it is quite amazing and very beautiful. It could teach present day people tolerance!

We walked through the Red Light district to find this hidden gem - a Catholic church in the attic of a canal-side house. Superbly presented with a spacious, modern entrance and exhibition space in the house next door, the audio guide takes you through the...More

I utterly enjoyed this short stop on our whirlwind tour of Amsterdam. The audio tour is so helpful so you can move at your own pace. The stories of the family who created this space, as well as the history of this time, were fascinating....More

Neat way to see what the buildings on the canal look like from the inside and appreciate how people lived. Church is amazing. Nice little tour worth a visit..

I would like to Thank the staff for letting us enter the museum, even though we visited less than 30 minutes before they close. Unfortunately we didn't have time to immerse ourselves in the history behind the museum through the audio guide, but we got...More

This place is well worth a visit. It’s fairly inconspicuous from the outside but on going inside it is amazing. Of course you get to see the hidden house church on the top floors, which is quite remarkable and unusual, and impressive the lengths they...More

Even though Catholicism was banned in Amsterdam and all Aatholic churches converted to Protestantism, Catholics were still allowed to practice their religion as long as it was not "flaunted" and so over a hundred small churches popped up in private houses. This is the last...More

Highly recommend a visit to this museum. The museum is very interesting, well designed and was not too crowded on the day of our visit. The cafe did not have the menu selections available when we were there.

Catholicism was banned in Amsterdam from 1578 until 1887. The Catholic Cathedral and Church’s had all become Reform Churches. This museum provides the story of a wealthy German merchant who being a devout Catholic converted part of his home into a Catholic Church. Well preserved...More

To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the

historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples
of traditional local architecture – not to mention
Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist

Hi, the previous answers cover it - good recorded audio explanation in English. I needed some directions to locate the building - it's right down in the red-light end of the street. Have a great time!
