It’s a small fountain located in the Piazza del Campo, one of the attractions to take in whilst in the square.

Having seen an exhibit in one of the museums showing the history of the Fonte Gaia we just had to go up close to it in the Piazza. It was also noticeably cooler there in the heat of the Tuscan August sun!

The travel group's use the fountain as a meeting place but it is a fabulous place to sit and people watch. The pigeons cool down under the running water and are a pleasure to watch too!

Placed in the Piazza del Campo it's a place where the pigeons go to drink by standing above the fountains and dipping in from the top.

Its the main item in the square a beautiful fountain, some great detail on its faces and the pigeons love it, on the hot day we were there some were bathing in it. Worth stopping and taking a look at.

The fountain is OK...I wouldn't say it is the main attraction in Siena...and it could use a little bit of cleaning/upkeep, but still not bad. It is not as intricate, or impressive as the fountains in-and-around Rome, but still an integral part of the overall...More

On a not so busy day, with still a few tables available, we were seated by one of the waiters who asked if we are here to eat or just for a drink, then brought us both food and drinks menu. We waited for 10...More

We found this little fountain on our third day in Siena for The Palio - on the previous two days the square had been too crowded to see it. Not overly special but the pigeons seemed to be enjoying it a lot.
