This is the unfinished wall of what was supposed to be a huge cathedral. The Black Death put an end to this addition in the mid-14th century. Let your imagination run wild and have a vision of how big it would/could have been!

great and ancient place. It should be the biggest church in the world but "black death" ended this idea. Now it is very interesting place with interesting walk to the highest point. I recomandet.

Excellent view of the Duomo piazza! However, be prepared for a wait of 15-30 minutes in a rather warm but pleasant room, and a climb on a circular staircase afterward.

Be prepared for the climb but what a view! You can see all of the walled city and miles outside. This was an experience of a lifetime. My calves killed me the next day because we did all 5 museums in the tour.

We had toured the OPA Museum and noticed that we could use the same ticket to get to the top of the arched, unfinished area of the cathedral. There was a short queue (15 mins) and then we climbed a short but narrow staircase. The...More
