This lovely palazzo is the seat of the one of the finest music conservatories in Europe, and you can hear superb students at practice while you admire the medieval architecture. It's on the main street up from the Campo, so it's easy just to drop...More

Another gorgeous building on Via di Città between Piazza del Campo and the Cathedral. Even if you are just passing and haven't organised a tour, as we were, it's worth having a look at the exterior and the inner courtyard, both beautiful.

I've been to Siena many times and knew this was a music school, but I wasn't aware that one could actually visit the inside via guided tour. My husband and I paid a meager 7 euro each for a FABULOUS experience. Our guide, Anna, was...More

This impressive palace dates back to the mid-12 th century but has undergone a number of renovations over the years including a renaissance refurbishment of the interior in the 16th century. The building fronts onto the via di città, one of the main cobblestone streets...More

The curved facade of the medieval Palazzo Chigi Saracini is impossible to miss. The walls and ceiling of a small peristyle in the the courtyard are richly decorated. The Chigiana Music Academy occupies the building today.

However, came late for the guided tour in English. Perhaps a sign of cultural fatigue this packed day in Siena. But a pleasure shakes over one at the small, quiet inner courtyard where classical music flows out of the building. A highly regarded music school...More

This place was the best piece and quiet place within Siena. Dating from the 14th century, the Palazzo Chigi-Saracini now houses the Accademia Musicale Chigiana of Siena. In the courtyard plays classical music, Einaudi, my favorite, when we were there. Didn't go inside, just enjoyed...More
