There is a small cappella, at the foot of the Torre del Mangia tower in Palazzo del Campo. It's only a small attraction, if pleasant enough. I have no idea why reviews for the Torre del Mangia tower have found themselves here however.

I have no way of painting a verbal picture of what you will see when you reach the top. I will say that I never heard anybody complain. It's not an easy walk to the top but all it takes is persistence.

For just a few Euro, you can have the best view in Siena. 1/4 of the way up there are toilets and storage for handbags & back packs etc. Time at the top is limited to 15 minutes, and this is policed fairly strictly by...More

I wasn't sure if I could make it to the top but there were stops along the way. Also, you have an assigned time to walk up so it isn't too crowded. There are windows as you walk up and a nice breeze.

It became clear why they make you remove even a small pacsac for the climb. It is a tight squeeze climbing up there, but fully worth the view on a sunny day, what a delight.

You can't help but look up as you approach the Piazza. It is a sudden pause as you discover the Piazza and the tower is there. It is a something you want to see and spend time taking it all in.

The town itself is not big. The main square is where the shops and restaurants are with another outer layer of street with more shops and restaurants. This is not a flat town though, you'll see occasional cars struggling to get up to the square....More

The climb was almost hard work - it not an easy climb, but not exceptionally hard either. A little claustrophobic in patches - tall people - keep checking for headroom - but overall, not an unpleasant staircase. Most of the climb (except the last stairs...More

It is a tough climb to the very top of the tower but well worth it for the views of the piazza below yow, the basilica and the surrounding countryside
