Nice monument with amazing artwork. It must have taken a long time to sculpt the pieces as there is a lot of detail.

At Piazza del Campo, a bit forwards from the Palazzo Pubblico, stands this marble chapel built here to commemorate the end of the plague in 1348. It was designed by Domenico d’Agostino in 1325 but was finished fifty years later by Giovanni di Cecco in...More

The Chapel of Piazza is the marble tabernacle that stands at the foot of the Torre del Mangia in Piazza del Campo. Great place to people watch under the fall Tuscany sun!

The Cappella di Piazza is the small white marble chapel at the foot of the tower in Piazza del Campo. The gates were locked when we visited so I am not sure if you can go inside for a visit.

Too much to see and understand without 2 full days, maybe 3 if you eat at all the wonderful places. Every Piazza offers something different. This ghas the views of towers and the tiny straate running off.

There is a small cappella, at the foot of the Torre del Mangia tower in Palazzo del Campo. It's only a small attraction, if pleasant enough. I have no idea why reviews for the Torre del Mangia tower have found themselves here however.

I have no way of painting a verbal picture of what you will see when you reach the top. I will say that I never heard anybody complain. It's not an easy walk to the top but all it takes is persistence.

For just a few Euro, you can have the best view in Siena. 1/4 of the way up there are toilets and storage for handbags & back packs etc. Time at the top is limited to 15 minutes, and this is policed fairly strictly by...More
