Honestly, it was a very long wait just to take in the views awaiting one after a long climb up a winding flight of stairs. If you have the time, you might consider it, but there are other sites more worthy.

The museum has some beautiful and ornate religious art and artifacts, but the attraction is the climb to the top of the wall that was the only thing standing of a cathedral that was never completed. Only the one wall stands. You go up a...More

Combo ticket price €13 includes the Cathedral; Crypt; Museo Dell'Opera & the Facciatone, (viewing platform) which is accessed through the museum. Another part of the ticket package around the cathedral. The museum is really lovely and has a lot of the art that has been renovated or replaced in the cathedral. I highly recommend the audioguide (you can get it for just the cathedral or for...More

"Opera" in this context means the "works" and nothing to do with music. This museum therefore contains the statutes that once adorned the outside of the Duomo but have been replaced due to wear and tear. You enter this museum to access the facciatone, or...More

The Museum, Baptistry, Crypt and the walk up to the top is a combined ticket you can purchase from the Tourist Center. For visitors, especially history buffs this is a tour worth taking. Climbing up the steps to take in the view is your reward.

This isn't for everyone, but our uncle of 85 years came with us and he loved it too. It brings some insight into the world and history of this place so many centuries ago. The sculptures and paintings and mosaics are stunning. The terrace at...More

Not impressed with this place at all, just full of religious items that all look the same, not sure why they name it Opera as there is nothing in there about opera.
