This is the center of activity in sienna. Restaurants, souvenirs and people surround the plaza. Extensive outdoor dining options. Food is , of course, about double the price, compared to dining in other locations within the wall city. But you cannot beat the ambiance.

The thing that I enjoyed the most in the piazza was people watching. There are many restaurants, cafes, bars and shops including a grocery around the piazza. Of course there are souvenir stands but also a great tourist information center. Our apartment is just off...More

The square itself is almost an Amphitheatre, the bricked surface focusing down to the front of the grand tower. We looked at the restaurants and decided cover charge plus higher prices was too much. Instead we ate at our Airbnb five minutes walk away and...More

I really liked this main piazza in Siena. It is not flat like all the other piazzas I have seen around Italy. They built Siena over three hills and the topography was not changed too much to create the square. I love that twice a...More

This is such an amazing looking place. The vague shell type shape makes it an unique place. There was still some sand on the ground left over from the Palio events that are held there in July and August. There are plenty of restaurants and...More

Even in the rain, the piazza del campo is a wonderful experience that should not be missed. Walking the area, looking at all the different flags and areas of old town was great, but going into this huge piazza, knowing that horses, with and without...More

It was as good as I had anticipated, always wanted to see it and finally got my wish. You have to take a pew at one of the many eateries and have a drink while watching the world go by, I could have spent hours...More

Nice square in the shape of a shell with a fountain. Lots of restaurants around the square, recommend to search for a more local restaurant

This piazza is flanked by the Palazzo Pubblico and it’s Torre del Mangia as well as a multitude of terraces. Sit down on the piazza as well or on one of the overpriced terraces and enjoy your surroundings and watch the other people enjoying themselves....More

Sorry about the delay in responding - we've been travelling. The hotel promoted the walking tour we did but it is available through the shop in the corner of the piazza. If you are standing looking at the tower it is in the... More

Hi, we had a rented vehicle while in Tuscany as it was easier to get around so I honestly don't know. I'm sorry!
