The piazza is small, dwarfed by the large stairs up to the church. As I understand it, the church is no longer a "duomo" because a bishop does not reside there, but nevertheless the structure is impressive - moreso in the interior.

San Gimignano is well worth a visit on many different kelps but the spectacular recently renovated Duomo in the centre is certainly one of the great places to visit whilst meandering through this beautiful city.
