This is one of the oldest and best preserved walled medieval towns anywhere in the world and it is also blessed with a great location in the hills and valleys of Tuscany and thus there are great views to be had from there. A number...More

We enjoyed our time in San Gimignano, we walked around the old streets and admired the tower houses. This place is famous for saffron and is an UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The views from this mountain city are fantastic! Loved the shops, people were great most spoke English. The only reason I did not give it a five star was because if you have any kind of walking problem the cobblestone streets and steep hills are...More

The main street was jammed but there are many side streets that let you get away from the (other) tourists. Wander and soak up the atmosphere, the Medieval beauty and charm. My only disappointment was not finding a San Gimignano t-shirt.

If you’re staying for a week or so I’d recommend staying in one of the many converted farmhouses with pools in one of the countryside locations which are about a 15-20 minute drive from Florence, Siena and san gimignano. Try... More

To san Gimignano there is no train station, it only can be reached by bus. If you come through florence you have to take a bus or train to Poggibonsi and take another bus to san gamignano. Its a 90min ride
