From a certain viewpoint, it appears one is looking at some skyscrapers, but these were built centuries ago as house towers. Strange but fascinating.

Beautiful view from the top -- please note there are a lot of stairs but the climb is worth it. Ticket includes access to the museum too.

In my opinion San Gimignano is the best town in Tuscany next to Florence. So much to see and so much history. Great shops of all kind, great food, great people. you need more than one day here. If in Tuscany, must go here.

It does not seem so high in a city full of towers but you do get a great view of the city and surrounding toscan hills, with their vines and trees bearing all manner of fruits and of course olives. The stairs are thankfully wide...More
