It's easy to climb but keep your head at the top of the tower and be ready for the view of fantastic medieval town and Tuscany hills.

My wife and I had a day to ourselves and the staff at Il Castelfalfi encouraged us to visit San Gimignano. While we were there we walked all around the old part of town and Torre Grossa. The highlight was the walk up the stairs...More

Buy the tickets for several sites when you visit this tower. So much fun! Easy to climb except for the last level with a ladder climb. So beautiful to see the while city!

I had about an hour to spend in San Gimignano (via tour bus) and this was a neat activity to do. The ticket was 9 euros. The entrance wasn't busy, but at the top there was a bottleneck and took awhile to get to finish...More

One could esily spend an hour up there exploring the countryside with binoculars or a telelens. Just beware of the ladders to get there though, not for even mildly handicapped people.

Whilst I understand that this is a tourist town, the price to climb the tower is as steep as the final ladder ascent - 9€ for me and 7€ for my 8 year old son. Still, the views at the top are worth the climb,...More

San gimignano is a great medieval town. It's worth it! But climbing in the Grossa Tower it's not worth! Very expensive and not a great view, is a view u cand enjoy in panormanic areas around the city. The museum has only two small rooms.

This is the tallest tower of the 7 (?) in San Gimignano. The staircase has been replaced with modern wide metal stairs, making it really easy to climb, also with young children. There are only 218 steps to climb and you get to a really...More
