O.K. much of this glorious building is closed to visitors, but what there is available is a joy to tour. Those used to the fabulous opulence (and knowledgeable and enthusiastic volunteer guides) of many UK National Trust properties may be disappointed, but do pause to...More

Wow - what a beautiful garden! That's a place to be contemplative in. It's very well kept. The villa itself has only a few rooms to visit. So on a sunny, warm day, you'll probably spend more time in the garden than in the house....More

Whilst not having many rooms open, the ones that are available are nicely staged. The garden offers a chance to take a rest and enjoy the setting.

Entry is round the back near the wall and you exit out of the front onto the streets. It was 6 euros for access to both house and gardens. You could easily walk around everything in an hour or a little over. It has the...More

We saw this garden from the walls around Lucca (they go all around the city and give you a great vantage point in which to check out the neighborhoods). It was so pretty I felt we had to make time to visit it. We went...More
