Our apartment was next door to this market and it is absolutely wonderful. I so wish it was a two minute walk everyday of my life. You can buy virtually anything and it goes without saying, the choice of fresh bread, pasta, fruit, vegetables, meat...More

I found the Mercato Centrale a wonderful place. Fruits and vegetables, Fresh meats, chicken and fish all on display. Breads, cheese, sausages are ready for slicing and eating. The market is dotted with coffee stands so you can get a real Italian breakfast. You can...More

This is a huge market mostly located inside an interesting 19th century building. There are numerous butchers, seafood sellers, fruit and vegetable sellers etc. This is where the locals shop so it was interesting to see the social activity and compare prices and quality with...More

We enjoy seeing how locals shop when we're in a country or city that's new to us, whether it's grocery stores or markets. This market was a mix of tourist-centered vendors but inside there were butchers, so you know they're catering to locals. All the...More

I love markets! The market in Livorno is filled with smells and colours. Tasty cheeses, fabulous pastas, fresh pasta, wonderful fresh fish, cured hams, olives ....... and so much more.

Not much to do here, mostly just a way station for other locations. Typical city without much to set it apart.
