Sure the market is good, but get inside of the Mercato Centrale for lunch (I think it's closed for dinner). The stalls on the ground floor are great for buying Italian perishable treats to take home. And upstairs... is some of the best mid-range food...More

Hugging the outside of the central market, this market is largely filled with leather goods (belts, handbags, purses etc) and scarfs which are often repeated over many stalls. Many do not have prices and you are heckled by stallholders (perhaps not everybody's thing) plus you...More

I spent my last day in Florence walking around Piazza San Lorenzo. I found beautiful scarfs and leather goods at great prices. The people were very kind and patient. I think it is a wonderful place to buy gifts and typical Italian merchandise to take...More

To walk there, I walk to the Via Cavour runs north from the Duomo, past the Medici-Riccardi Palace and through a nondescrip urban zone. Worth to see the eastern part of this zone which is dominated by the Accademia, with Michelangelo’s David; nearby are the...More

Its hard to know what you are really buying, and how much it should cost. I guess if you like bargaining for dreck, its worth your time, otherwise, avoid shopping as a form of tourism.

WNted to purchase a jacket here, but was so crowded. The bags wallets etc all seemed much the same on each stall so was difficult to know if you were getting a bargain or not.

Great pizza, nice organized and ambience. We had someone bring drinks for us and then we just focus on what to order depending on what we crave for. The prices where not cheap like a mercado but still very affordable. Recommended experience.

Its just a short walking distance away. Suggest either google map or ask around... Not hard to find at all.
