This is a fantastic section of the Pitti Palace with numerous treasures that were collected over the years.
I'd leave this part of the palace to the end of the visit.

This is a beautiful collection of ivory, silver and gold items, cameos, precious stones, and furniture. The old name was "Museo degli Argenti, but it is now called "Tesoro dei Granduchi". Some of the items are very old and show an extraordinary craftsmanship. In my opinion it was more interesting than the museum of Fashion and Costume. A part of it is dedicated to modern jewelry.

Another important part of the Palazzo Pitti this museum has room after room of treasures. Gold silver and ivory are just some of the materials used. Most of what’s on display is medieval but the jewellery part continues to late 20th century. Give yourself time 2-3 hours to really appreciate what’s there. Unmissable in Florence

One of the museums in the Palazzo Pitti. If you don't have much time go for this one. The painted walls and ceilings are breathtaking.

A separate museum within the Piti Palace complex, this is easy to overlook, but was easily one of the highlights of our visit to Florence. It contains jewelry, gems, carved semi-precious stone, carved ivory, mosaics, silver, bronze, cameos, reliquaries, etc., etc,. etc. Wonderful marvels of the Medici collections. You could easily spend hours in this museum just being awestruck by the workmanship in each and every piece. I do wish that the signage was better - materials used and age of the object were often missing and that would have made for a better experience.

This a place for connoisseurs. If you're tired to see paintings and gorgeus sculptures; if you're in Pitti Palace, maybe to visit the Boboli Garden but it's raining; if you want give an idea to your partner about a gift (there is a collections of jewels trought centuries really stunning); if you are looking for something different, only to have a taste about the exquisite, smart collections of the Medici family in the late, late part of their terrific history, don't miss this superb little museum.
Suggestions about readings: The Medicis by H. Acton and "La camicia bruciata" by A. Banti. Here you'll discover a lot of hot secrets about the most important Florentine dinasty in the 17th century.

This museum is situated in the Pitti Palace. It contains many art pieces which are simply stunning. The rooms in which the collection is housed are also fantastic. Worth seeing.

Just one of a number of museums in the Pitti Palace the collection in this museum is amazing. One cannot help but admire the workmanship evident in the many pieces on display. The rooms in which the objects are displayed are also worth seeing.

I had already been several times to Palazzo Pitti and the Garden (a world of its own) but somehow I had always missed out on this. I'm glad I got it this time! The trompe l'oiel frescoes are worth the visit alone but you're treated to amazing ancient artifacts; part of the Medici's and not only, personal collection.
Don't think it's a minor attraction compared to the Palace and Garden because it definitely isn't! Worth the visit, which doesn't take long so take advantage of it

I have to be honest and say that I wasn't very interested In the actual exhibition itself. I was far more interested in admiring the amazing frescoes and ceilings in the rooms in which it was housed. That said, the exhibits were well laid out and labelled so it was worthwhile seeing. Don't forget to look up at the ceilings!
