Climb the 414 steps and you will be rewarded by great view of them and the city of Florence. The bell tower is both beautiful and an architectural and engineering wonder.

The view was nice but just like any other building of that sort. As usual lot's of tourists and families around taking photo's and posing enjoying their day. I did not go inside.

We chose to climb the campanile rather than the Dome for two reasons: when you climb the Dome there's no turning back if you decide you can't go the whole way. It's one way up and one way down, so you have to commit from...More

If you want to have a broader view on Florence and the areas around, Campanile di Giotto is one of the places. It is worth all the effort up on top.

414 steps, so declined this climb having just done the Dome (463 steps). You will need a ticket and still have to queue. We decided to admire the building from the outside having looked down to it from the dome.

I have climbed it, and none will forbid you to take it with you, but i suggest you to climb it without the daypack because you have nearly 1000 stairs to climb. Hope you enjoy Florence. It's a wonderful city.😊
