We stopped to visit this church just because it was close to the Academia Gallery. We absolutely loved it, it is beautifully decorated and very quiet. It is definitely worth a visit.

Gorgeous Basilica dedicated to the Annunciation of the Angel to Mary. The beauty reflects the faith of the many artists who made this facility reality thus inspiring the faith of Christians today.

Santissima Annunziata is not quite a "must see," but it is the only Baroque church in Florence. The ornate walls and ceiling are magnificent. It is also good to pair this visit with: Cenacolo di Sant'Apollonia, Santa Maria Maddalena dei Pazzi with it's Crucifixion by...More

We were amazed by the art in this beautiful Basilica. The murals, the paintings, the carvings and there is no fee to enter.

Most interesting was the chapel with the painting of the Virgin, supposedly started by Fra Bartolomeo and finished by angels, is located. There are nice fresco's in the portico and in the Cloister by Andre del Sarto as well.

elderly residents who sit in Piazza San Marco to read
the daily newspaper. Home to several universities,
including the Academy of Fine Arts, San Marco is one
