Started in the 16th century by Dominican friars, this is more like a museum than a perfume shop since it stocks an awesome range of perfumes, herbal elixirs and soaps based on, of all things, vinegar.

This pharmacy has evolved from its’ ancient past to become an upmarket sales outlet for many things herbal - i.e. soaps and essences plus. Look at the walls and ceilings as well as the artefacts and products.

This was one of our favorite shopping stops during our European tour. The shop continues a tradition begun by the monks of Santa Maria Novella over 500 years ago, producing herbal elixirs. Though the monks are no longer involved in the production, the product line...More

I wanted everything and I bought nothing. I couldn't decide after a long day of the Uffizi, the Basilica of Santa Croce, the Duomo. They sprayed at least a dozen little cardboards with scent and I stuffed them in my pocket and wandered away. I...More

Stunning building worth visiting. Amazing products, excellent staff, beautiful packaging. Must try the hand cream, and the rose water. Lovely presents to bring home. Visit the church too.

Oldest operating pharmacy in Europe and not on the map. Told about it by our Airbnb host. Short walk from duomo too. Cool history and wonderful products. Just be careful in sizes for planes!

Florence is a special city. Behind every door an unexpected world can hide. This is definitely so with this old pharmacy. On the street side, it is literally a door behind which you wouldn't expect a combination of fragrances and tastes. Hostesses help you find...More

This is just not a pharmacy or perfumery, it is a step back into time and a museum. The present pharmacy dates back to 1612, (still not as old as Antica Farmacia Pesci in Rome, est. 1552), but has a very large selection of products,...More
