About
Our classes are offered as a view into a typical Tuscan cuisine. Classes are small and intimate. First step: grocery shopping at the central market!! You will go shopping with the chef at the central market picking up the ingredients for your lunch. You will meet the butchers, the bakers, and the farmers selling vegetables from their gardens. You will learn how to distinguish the highest quality ingredients and as an added bonus, how to bargain! You will taste local foods & wines. After this fun experience you will reach the house and start the lessons in a private kitchen. A true hands-on experience, and you will prepare your own meal, made of Bruschetta, Fresh Home-made Pasta, and a main course, accompanied with a selection of Chianti wines. As you will eat your own food, you’d better be an attentive student while the Chef is teaching!

This was a wonderful time for my mother sister and me. Caterina and Nicolo were awesome hosts and chefs. We started with a market tour meeting Caterina's various friends , ie butcher, barristas, cheese friends, nut and dried fruit friends. Informed us how poorly we eat with processed food in the states. I believe there is some truth to that as my GI issues have never been this calm. We then watched Nicola and a lucky volunteer make a bolognese sauce. We then did tiramisu and tagliatelle and ravioli. All were absolutely delicious!! They gave us delicious wine. Good times and friends were made. Maybe market tour could have been shortened but we were ae to try some wonderful cheeses there.

I really enjoyed my experience! Niccolo and Caterina were very friendly and knowledgeable. I wish we could participate in the making of ragù and ricotta filling a bit more, but it was fun to make pasta and tiramisu from scratch. I am happy I attended this class.

Nicolo was a great coach & teacher. We had made pasta before but he gave us all the tips to make great pasta. The sauces were delectable.

The experience was fantastic! Tomasso, my instructor was patient, polite and one with whom I had a great time doing the market tour and the cooking class. His knowledge of history was very good! Highly recommend!

A fantastic experience visiting the market, shopping for ingredients, and then making a delicious menu of bolognese, pumpkin ravioli, and tiramisu. Tommaso was our chef and leader and was friendly, deeply knowledgeable, and lots of fun. Highly recommend.

My husband and I are always a bit skeptical of doing any sort of excursion/activity on our trips but I really wanted to take a cooking class while we were in Italy. I had found this place online and the woman at our hotel recommended it. We booked and payed online very easily the night before (in January) and had no problem getting in. Our group was only 6 people and because of that I think it was more enjoyable. You start off by meeting your instructor/chef - ours was Marco and he was AMAZING.

Then you walk over to the marketplace and Marco walks you through the market. We stopped at the fishmarket and he explained some things, then to the cheeses and cured meats where you sample some incredible boards, then to pick up your meat. After you have those you go to the cooking school and get to work. Marco was awesome at explaining why he was doing certain things and what to look for while cooking the dishes. Individually you work on your own dough and learn what to look for. You also work on the tiramisu. While some f the stuff is cooking you sit down and enjoy wine and more cheese. Then, you get back to your pasta and lunch is practically served! The food was FABULOUS. We are pretty conservative by saying we had a fabulous meal but truly, the pasta dishes were the best we had the entire trip and the tiramisu was the best I've ever had in my life. I couldn't stop eating.

It certainly helped that Marco was a fabulous guide - honest, funny, knowledgable, and personable. I cannot recommend this place enough, if you are in Florence you should absolutely take part of your day to do this. We can't wait to make our dishes at home (even though I'm sure our American ingredients won't be nearly as good!!)

This was a great experience. We could’ve skipped the marketplace in the morning but the cooking and endless wine drinking was fantastic. It was so satisfying making our pasta from scratch and seeing how to make 2 kinds of sauces. It was a ton of fun and my teenagers loved it. They can’t wait to get home and cook a meal!

There have been a lot of well-deserved, excellent reviews of this tour already - Catarina taking us to the San Lorenzo market to sample a number of meats and cheeses, the group watching the making of the Bolognese sauce and the fresh tomato sauces, the donning of the aprons to make our own tagliatelle, ravioli and tiramisu, the sampling of the appys that John and Catarina provided. However, one of the most enjoyable aspects of this tour for me was the sense of humour that Catarina, John and the fellow at the deli in the market all exhibited during our tour. They were all so funny one couldn't help but enjoy! The food we prepared was delicious, and I no longer use any machines when making my pasta at home. As others have already said, this is a 'must do' when you are in Florence.

My significant other will appease me when I want to do cooking classes while in another country. This class was enjoyable! We met at a location that was very easy to find with their detailed description.

We met our chef there, who took us to the market to show us around and teach us about some of the market trades. Then we did a cheese tasting.

After cheese tasting, we walked over to where the classes are held. The class is very organized with the order in which courses are made. Our chef was entertaining, made jokes and was also supportive and friendly.

We had such a great time with our classmates too because of the level of involvement.

My significant other thoroughly enjoyed the class and we both can not wait to show our friends and families what we learned!
